        Main Review
Featuring members from such renowned bands as Behemoth and Vader, Before you even listen to them you know Vesania won't fail in making some soothing harsh noises for your grim and necro tastes and they certainly live up to that expectation with their symphonic black metal sounds.

In terms of guitars, rhythm and vocal sections there is little new here; crashing beats, shredded guitars and singing that sound like an engine dying painfully are all present as you would expect from such a record. Indeed if you have heard and liked anything from the newer school of Black Metal such as Dimmu Borgir then this will provide more than enough to entertain you sufficiently.

One thing that this album fails on is any real innovation, whilst the music is enjoyable throughout the entirety of the record, 'God The Lux' features nothing new and if you've heard any other decent symphonic black metal band then you've in practical terms already heard 'God The Lux' in principle. The keyboard parts are the usual sweeping violins and choral samples during, and whilst they are still enjoyable, they fail to really provide anything new. However, the interludes 'Lumen Clamosum', 'Lumen Fenustum' and 'Lumen Coruscum' do provide interesting ambient parts between tracks, it is only a shame they didn't think of providing such ideas in the main tracks themselves. An exception to this rule is the track, and album highlight, 'Fireclipse' which plays with different dynamics and rhythms to provide a more interesting and enjoyable effect. Another definate highlight is album closer 'Legions Are Me' which at 3 minutes is short, but sweet (If you can call this sort of music "sweet"...) which although it doesn't offer anything that you couldn't already find in any other track on the album, ties up all these elements into one very enjoyable whole.

Overall 'God The Lux' is a highly enjoyable record despite a few areas where I personally felt the album lacked real ambition or flair. If you are into quality symphonic black metal and have a burning hole to fill in your CD rack, make 'God The Lux' the album to do so.

Standout Tracks:  Fireclipse, God The Lux, Legions Are Me.

    Overall Score:   7.5 /10
